What to Know Before You Book
At Auburn Road Medical Centre, we believe a successful consultation begins the moment you book your appointment. We view healthcare as a partnership—a collaborative conversation where your concerns are heard clearly and clinical decisions are explained openly.
To support this collaborative approach, we offer extended consultation options, integrated clinical records for seamless care, and clear follow-up processes to ensure you always feel heard rather than rushed.
To prepare for your visit, we recommend:
- Booking promptly:Â Schedule your appointment as soon as you notice a health concern.
- Communicating preferences:Â Let us know if you require a male or female doctor, or if you require a translator.
- Bringing support:Â You are welcome to bring a friend or relative to provide emotional support or to help take notes during your consultation.
To ensure you get the right length of appointment, booking the Right Appointment Type
- Multiple Issues: You have three or more health concerns or a long list of symptoms to discuss.
- Mental Health: You need to discuss anxiety, depression, or create a Mental Health Care Plan.
- Complex Conditions: You are managing chronic illnesses, multi-part injuries, or workers' compensation claims.
- Procedures: You require specialized physical exams, comprehensive skin checks, or minor surgeries.
Telehealth consultations are intended to provide a convenient and efficient service for patients. Please ensure you are an existing patient of the practice who has been seen in person within the last 12 months, as required by Medicare.
Examples of matters that may be suitable for telehealth include:
- Repeat prescriptions where clinically appropriate.
- Review of pathology or imaging results.
- Medical certificates.
- Brief follow-up consultations.
- Review of an existing condition.
- Simple medical advice.
- Other straightforward matters that can reasonably be managed without a physical examination.
Telehealth Consultation Notice
Telehealth consultations are provided primarily for your convenience and are generally limited to approximately 7 minutes. Your telehealth appointment time is an estimated time only and cannot be guaranteed, doctors may be delayed by other patients or unexpected clinical matters. Please keep your phone available and ensure that you can receive calls during your appointment period.
If you have not received a call from your doctor within a reasonable period after your expected appointment time, please contact the clinic reception so that we can check the status of your appointment.
