Walk-ins are welcome at our clinic, but priority will be given to those patients with a dedicated appointment time. Thank you for your understanding.

Home visits

Due to the limited availability of GPs during evenings and weekends, Auburn Road Medical Centre has engaged 13 SICK (National Home Doctor Service) to provide after-hours deputising services to our patients when the practice is closed

Please be aware that home visits are not for emergencies, and if you have a medical emergency, then phone 000 or present to the nearest hospital.

  • When to use: Patients should use this service for acute, non-life-threatening medical issues that cannot wait until the practice reopens or when the patient lacks the mobility to attend the practice in person.
  • How to access:Patients can request a consultation in one of two ways:
    • Online (preferred):Visit the 13 SICK website at https://13sick.com.au/ and complete the online request form. This is the quickest and easiest way to make a booking.
    • By phone:Call 13 SICK (13 7425).
  • The Service: 13 SICK is a Medicare-funded, accredited after-hours service that provides bulk-billed home visits and telehealth consultations to eligible Medicare and DVA cardholders.
  • Service Availability:
    • Monday to Friday: Before 8:00 AM and after 6:00 PM
    • Saturday: Before 8:00 AM and after 12:00 PM (noon)
    • Sunday: 24 hours
    • Public Holidays: 24 hours
  • Continuity of Care: A summary of the care provided by the 13 SICK doctor will be sent to Auburn Road Medical Centre on the next business day to ensure continuity of care . Please note that this is a deputising service and should not be used as a substitute for routine care from your regular GP.

Please dial 000 or go to the nearest hospital emergency department if you have chest pains, uncontrolled bleeding, poisoning, constant vomiting, serious breathing problems, or anything else you deem as life or limb threatening.
